Why I photograph the way that I do
A little bit about me
My name is Lauren. I enjoy capturing photos and telling stories with patience and presence. As a photographer, my goal has always been to capture the genuine moments.
I first fell in love with storytelling and photography at Syracuse University, where I interned as a photojournalist at The Syracuse Post-Standard and The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). After graduating from Syracuse University, I moved to New York City, where I worked as a part-time staff photojournalist for The New York Post and The Journal News. Eventually, I transitioned to freelance work for USA TODAY, New York Magazine, EBONY, The World of Money, GroundWork Inc., The American Foundation for the Blind, YWCA, The Harlem Educational Activities Fund (H.E.A.F.), Common Sense Media, and We Act.
